The way that Butch James has been snake bit with his poor kicking for Bath, that not might be such a loss at fly half...
Perhaps, but please take in mind how the Boks have suffered of late to find a reliable 10.
Butch James was the incumbent two years ago and after last year Tri Nations, de Villiers opted to switch Ruan Pienaar, a halfback who had expressed his desire to play at halfback, to play 10.
First five is a position where South Africa, unlike Aus and NZ, has not got plenty of players to choose from, and the lost of James is an important blow.
In saying that, I admit that perhaps, it's the real chance for de Villiers to start using the in-form first five of SA, Morné Steyn, who has been outstanding with the Bulls, but he's still uncapped with the Boks.
